We require payment in advance. The fees table below sets out our current fees. Where a particular service is marked as "from", please Contact for a full quote tailored to your requirements. No research work will be carried out until funds have been properly received.

Please note that all fees above are fully inclusive: there is no additional charge for postage or travel expenses The only charges that have not already been factored in are: (i) fees for microfiche printouts and photocopies from the various County Record Offices or libraries and (ii) searches of any Family History Society index for which a fee is payable. These are simply charged to you at cost, but we suggest that you add a small float to the above fees when you are making specific requests for printouts.

In all cases, please contact us mailto:info@devonancestry.com or by post for initial advice and a quotation tailored to your requirements. For more open-ended enquiries it may not always be possible to predict the precise cost of a search. In such instances, we will suggest an initial budget or you can set an upper limit. We ask you to complete our official Commissioning Form at this point. Where an initial budget or upper limit has been set, we will work within and up to that limit only. If the limit is reached before the request has been completed, a report of the work so far will be sent to you. You may then commission further work, if you wish.

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS BY PAYPAL AND NOCHEX

PAYPAL is the world's largest online payment network - simply click on the above graphic icon to make your payment. This can be made without registration, although registered users can log in by their normal method and use the e-mail address payments@devonancestry.com as the payee destination.

PAYPAL is now our preferred method for overseas' payments because it uses the highest-level data security and encryption to protect confidential information in transit. A wide variety of credit/debit cards are accepted including VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, SWITCH and SOLO.

We also accept payments from UK clients by NOCHEX. NOCHEX is now the UK's No. 1 e-mail Money Service and accepts payments by both UK credit and debit card. It uses the highest currently available encryption protocols for data security. Simply click the above graphic icon to make your payments. You do not have to register, but non-registered users are restricted to a £100 maximum payment. Registered users can log in as usual and use the e-mail address payments@devonancestry.com as the payee destination.

PAYMENT BY CHEQUE OR INTERNATIONAL MONETARY ORDER

UK CLIENTS may pay by cheque. This can be either for the fee shown in the tariff or, where an upper budget limit has been agreed,by open limited cheque. This is a safe and convenient method where you leave the amount and figures blank, but write elsewhere on the front 'not to exceed (X) pounds' where (X) represents the estimate we have supplied or your upper limit. We will work within or up to that figure and will complete the cheque accordingly.

Overseas' clients may pay by Cheques or Travellers Cheques, International Monetary Orders or Giro Cheques (all of which MUST be in BRITISH POUNDS STERLING and made payable through a London bank). Due to very high bank clearance/negotiation charges, we cannot accept cheques in any overseas' currency (including Australian and New Zealand Dollars) - the bank charges are absolutely prohibitive! Such cheques will be returned and no research work carried out until appropriate funding is received.
